Thermal Efficient Skylights
The greater the thermal efficiency of a skylight the more money homeowners will save on their energy bills. Skylights Rooflight are proud to sell beautifully crafted skylights that not only look good, but also do their part in helping you lower your energy consumption and reduce your home's carbon footprint.
The most obvious source of thermal efficiency is the glazing. Our triple glazed skylights are much more thermally efficient than old-fashioned single-glazed skylights since the space between the first and second, and second and third layers of glass slow the process of conduction, retaining more heat in the winter and blocking heat from entering in the summer. Our skylights also employ films that block UV light, further reducing the amount of heat that passes through the rooflight into your home.

The Additional Benefits of Thermal-Efficient Skylights
While the thermal performance of a skylight is certainly important, it's not the only way our skylights help you save energy. They can also help you reduce your dependence on electric light.
Our skylights can be strategically placed on your roof to optimise the amount of natural light they allow into your home. All that natural light streaming into your house will reduce your reliance on electric light. That is particularly true during the dark winter months when many people run their lights nearly all day long.
When turned on, electric lights also produce heat of their own. So during the summer months, fewer electric lights going at any one time means less heat being generated inside the house and less need to have the air conditioner running all the time to compensate. That will also contribute to lower energy bills and a reduced carbon footprint for your home.
And let's not forget something else: an energy-efficient home has a higher market value than a similar home that is not energy-efficient. In some cases, the difference can be significant. Also, if you decide at some point to sell or rent your home you'll need to obtain an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) to show to prospective tenants or buyers. The more energy efficient your home is the better your EPC rating will be which will result in a better sale price or higher rental price.
